The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
