The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
