The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
