The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
