The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
