The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
