The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
