The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
