The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
