Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
