The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
