The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
