The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
