The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
