The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
