The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
