The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
