The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
