The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
