The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
