The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, 1 Who hath created and then proportioned, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And Who brings forth herbage, 4 then caused it to wither away. 5 We shall make you recite and then you will not forget, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path). 8 Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). 9 Those who have fear of God will benefit 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Neither dying therein nor living. 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 and mentions the Name of his Lord, and prays. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
