Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and prepared goblets, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
