Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains - how they have been established? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
