Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a high Garden. 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
