The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
