The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
