The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
