The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
