Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 They used to say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
