The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
