The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the late morning, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
