The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
