The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
