The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
