Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The disbelieving People of the Book(s) and the polytheists would not have left their religion until the clear proof came to them. 1 A messenger from Allah, reading purified pages 2 in writings wherein are scriptures, absolutely true and unerring. 3 Those who were given the Book did not become divided except after clear evidence was given to them. 4 And they were commanded not but that they should worship Allah, keeping religion pure for him, as upright men, and that they should establish prayer and give the poor-rate, and that is the right religion. 5 Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. 6 (And) lo! those who believe and do good works are the best of created beings. 7 Their reward [awaits them] with God: gardens of perpetual bliss, through which running waters flow, therein to abide beyond the count of time; well-pleased is God with them, and well-pleased are they with Him: all this awaits him who of his Sustainer stands in awe!. 8
