The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
