Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the snorting courses, 1 Then those that produce fire striking, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
