Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 surely, man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared 10 indeed, on that Day their Lord will be aware of them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
