Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 Striking sparks of fire 2 And raiding at dawn 3 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Is he not aware of the time when the contents of the graves will be brought out? 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
