Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
