Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty, 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
