Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
