In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 As justification or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
