Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
