The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
