Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In columns outstretched. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
