The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
