Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
