Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
