Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

DOOMED are the hands of him of the glowing countence: and doomed is he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
